Our Ongoing Works
Ditwah
Cyclone Ditwah caused severe flooding and landslides in Badulla and Nuwara Eliya in late 2025. Uva Shakthi Foundation supports recovery efforts to help affected rural and estate communities rebuild.

Civil society organizations and Community Collectives for Democratic Governance (CCCDG)
NOFO USAID – ISD
Civil Society Organizations and Community Collectives for Democratic Governance -CCCDG in Sri Lanka with Funding of the United States Agency of International Development (USAID) Project to empower the communities in Malaiyaham.
Outcomes
- Support civil society capacity building and networking space for collective actions at national and
regional level - Expand civil society space by promoting citizen and government engagement
- Increase civil society support for more inclusive, sustainable democratic and economic governance.
SCDR – Search for Common Grounds- SFCG
The Overall Goal of the project is to strengthen inclusive local dispute resolution mechanisms that peacefully manage conflict and prevent escalation of violence in target districts and divisions in Sri Lanka.
PAVE – People Against Violence in Elections (PAVE) in Sri Lanka Funded by : IFES
Proposed project addresses the critical need to cultivate constructive engagement among young leaders (aged 18-29) in Sri Lanka to promote the democratic processes. Sri Lanka has experienced instances of violence and tensions surrounding elections, highlighting the urgency to equip emerging community leaders with the skills necessary for peaceful electoral engagement. By focusing on political pluralism, citizen engagement, and community-based violence mitigation, this project aims to foster greater resilience and inclusivity, especially at the local level. Prioritizing the participation of youth, minorities, and individuals with disabilities ensures a diverse and representative cohort, essential for effective and sustainable peace building efforts. Through advocacy and action projects, youth participants will address drivers of conflict and work with government leaders to advocate for governance priorities, contributing to a more peaceful and inclusive electoral environment in Sri Lanka.
TISL – RTI Hub Badulla, District Joint Venture, USF and TISL
It is proposed to engage Knowledge Enhancing on RTI Concept, RTI Act, and Practical Exercise on RTI Application, Anti-Corruption Law and the Citizenry Involvement. Engage the Civic Participation on RTI and Civic Education for Better Governance by ensuring Citizen led monitoring- of service delivery, revenues, budget execution, procurement, contract awards, and budget execution to improve efficiency and reduce opportunities for corruption, by using the RTI tool for better local governance and citizens’ participation.
A Joint Project by TISL and the USF This action is supported by “European Instrument for Democracy and Human Rights Country Based Support Scheme (CBSS) for Sri Lanka to Enhancing CSOs’ Contribution to Governance and Development Process in Sri Lanka. Engaging members of the public to use RTI as a tool to ensure transparency, accountability and civic participation.
As far as the RTI Right to Information is concern we more active in the spheres of Public Service Providers, Newly Elected Local Governance Councilors and Citizens Councils.
